Lingerie Metamorphosis: Butterflies by Claire Pettibone

One of my favorite people in the lingerie industry is Ellen Lewis. Ellen, an intimate apparel guru for over 20 years, recently started her own blog called Lingerie Briefs. A romantic at heart, Ellen believes that "lingerie is the poetry in a woman's wardrobe."

While at Curvexpo in NY, I had the pleasure of running into Ellen and discovering a new favorite line called the "Butterflies Collection" by Claire Pettibone. The following is what Ellen had to say about the Butterflies Collection on her blog:

"It’s been raining all summer in the Northeast. So when the sun broke through last week for two consecutive days, it was a pleasure to actually sit outside on my porch and witness a butterfly floating through the milkweeds. The rainy weather has kept us cocooned since spring. It’s hard to believe that it’s the middle of August and these colorful gems, often regarded as flying flowers, have already begun their migration south. I am hopeful that their presence is a sign of change. After all, it has been said that 'if nothing ever changed, there’d be no butterflies.' This then, is an apt name for the new Butterflies Collection by Claire Pettibone. Claire has managed to enrich the fundamental elements of a lingerie wardrobe with a fresh and vivid new vision. Mesh and lace panties, camisoles and chemises are powered by a colorful garden of placement prints. There is the unique impression of body art. Function and femininity morph together to create a fairytale quality in timeless basics."

Ellen sums up perfectly this extraordinary, lovely, and feminine line. For more on Ellen and her fabulous blog, click on Lingerie Briefs. You can also follow Lingerie Briefs on Twitter.
